We were funded $150,000 for this project which was used for a lop/scatter treatment. 603 acres were contracted through State purchasing.

Project Narrative
431 acres were completed in Fall of 2024. The contractor had to stop working on October 31, due to the weather conditions. They resumed on November 15th and once again had to stop due to the weather. They will return to finish the remaining 172 acres in the Spring once the snow has melted.

Future Management
We have requested funding for 272 acres of hand/cut/pile in this area in the Phase II portion of the project. The other half of the hand/cut/pile and the machine piles have been funded through the Mule Deer Foundation and should be completed in 2026. This project is part of a larger 22,057 acre project that will continue for many years to come.
